Humanitarian Sponsorship
Sponsorships of humanitarian aid are those that benefit persons living in sudden and extreme circumstances. These sponsorships are contracted with individuals or businesses for the benefit of persons affected with tragedy in their lives due to economic hardships, environmental circumstances such as natural disasters or famine, war torn countries where the population has been dessimated and the towns and villages where people once lived have been destroyed.
Some humanitarian sponsorship arrives in the form of government help. Some governments sponsor refugees for rehabilitation and placement in homes. These resettlement programs are government sponsored and refugees are placed with families until they can care for themselves in their new environment. These international refugee sponsorships entail support through clothing, lodging, food provided by groups, with the agreement that the refugee settle permanently in the country offering aid.
Other humanitarian sponsorship involves paying for and sending food from one country to another, immediate rebuilding efforts after devastating destruction of natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, drought, famine, earthquake and typhoon. Many humanitarian organizations seek funding from sponsorships to aid the funding they have rasied through donations to help in crisis situation for the safety of the populations that have recently been affected.
Humanitarian sponsors contribute millions and at times of extreme need billions of dollars to help contribute to the immediate needs of those who have been torn from their families, homes, and in some cases their countries.
